Vacancy: Finance Officer

Our client a global asset management company are looking for an experienced Finance Officer.

Summary:

  • Provide finance and compliance support.
  • Reports to the CFO.

Profile description, Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Has to be eligible as DFSA authorised person
  • 5 years’ experience in similar field (audit experience preferred)
  • Chartered Accountant with a University degree
  • Compliance management training, training on DFSA rules and regulations or equivalent (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with Eze Software applications (preferred)
  • Understanding of our investment products (equity, pnotes, CFDs, forwards,) and MENA + Frontier market mechanics
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Team player, punctual
  • Appreciates great attention to detail & accuracy

Controller Role and Responsibilities:

  • Act as DFSA finance officer
  • Responsible for internal and external financial reporting and control  (management accounts, audited financial statements, budgets, PIB returns)
  • Have responsibility for compliance  with PIB rules
  • Reviewing vendor contracts, reviewing client reporting, reviewing fee invoices
  • Assist the CEO/CFO on finance matters / project work
  • Implementing internal controls (approving invoices, handling collections on invoices, coordinating with financial auditors and internal auditors and maintaining supporting company records)
  • Perform accounting function (cash management function, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivables, cash disbursements, payroll, bank reconciliation)
  • Monitor adherence with compliance policies and procedures
  • Manage client take-on procedures, KYC requests
  • Coordinate internal control committee meetings and materials
  • Assist with legal document management including corporate secretarial records

 

Fund Accountant Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring daily 4 eye control on transactions, accruals and cash transfers
  • Ensuring daily trade activity is correctly captured in the PMS (trade booking & instructions)
  • Active contribution to improvement of our Operating procedures
  • Producing and publishing of daily PnL and reconciliation of final weekly/monthly NAV with administrators
  • Ensuring timely production of monthly/weekly NAV
  • Ongoing coordination with fund administrators
  • Production of quarterly fees for billing
  • Assist in building out our shadow accounting procedures
  • Participating in fund audit processes
  • Active involvement in internal and external reporting requirements
